Renewable energy

Renewable energy is energy collected from renewable resources that are naturally replenished on a human timescale. It includes sources such as sunlight, wind, the movement of water, and geothermal heat.

Renewable energy engineering is a broad field of engineering dealing with energy efficiency, energy services, facility management, plant engineering, environmental compliance, sustainable energy, and renewable energy technologies also is an ability to integrate renewable sources of energy with the electric grid and analyze, design, and operate the electric, control, and energy storage components thereof.

Engineers may work in laboratories and offices, as well as outdoors, depending on the project. For example, wind engineers travel frequently to inspect turbine installations or wind turbine manufacturing processes. Solar engineers work in office buildings, laboratories, or industrial plants.

Renewable energy engineers work on the production of energy from renewable or sustainable sources, including wind, solar, and hydro or marine power. They research and develop new machinery and equipment, production processes, and ways to minimize the impact on the environment.
