Project management engineering

It is the practice of shepherding a project from inception through delivery, applying the necessary skills and knowledge to keep the project on time, on budget, and aligned with all relevant specifications.

It requires careful planning and communication of that plan to a team of engineers. It involves the identification of project goals and milestones as well as the development of multiple scenarios and contingency plans.

That includes the following skills, as identified by the Project Management Institute: Communications risk management stakeholder management procurement quality assurance process integration timing, cost, and scope of the project engineering project manager also needs to understand the technical work to be done, at least well enough to provide direction and feedback.

The project manager needs to be able to get the project back on track with minimal loss of time and money. There are numerous logistical factors to consider.

As an engineering project manager, you work closely with the clients to design and develop a detailed plan for the project. Your job duties include creating cost proposals, ensuring all safety regulations were met, and maintaining financial records. You are often involved in the entire product development process.
