Luster of rust

Rust is what happens when you oxidize a metal by working on green energy and recycling issues; iron that is rust-free and zinc-coated can be produced, allowing the world to utilize it for building.

Using solar panels provide the project with energy, and batteries store the energy required for this process of removing the rust from iron and galvanizing it with zinc by an electroplating process.

The project consists of 2 parts:

The first one is the hydraulic arm. Hydraulic arm from wood and syringes.

The second part is the process of recycling. The process consists of 3 parts, first is the removal of rust from an iron rod. The second one is the feedback mechanism, so the multimeter will act as a sensor for knowing whether the rust has been removed or not. The third part is the solar panel and energy part of the project.

1- HCl is 10 % concentrated, using the equation of M1v1=M2v2 and the volume is 250ml solution.

2- By letting rust iron in HCl for an hour and waiting until it changes its color.

3- After drying the piece of iron, connect the multimeter to the iron, and no resistance will the multimeter be measured.

4- Connect the solar cell to the charged battery to store energy.

5- Connect the zinc that acts as an anode and iron as a cathode, in an electrolytic cell, the cathode is a negative electrode and anode and connects a battery that comes from the solar panel to the circuit for the electroplating process.

6HCl (aq) + Fe2O3 (s) --> 2FeCl3 (aq) + 3H2O (l).

After finalizing the project, you can get pure iron you can use in any use of iron usage.
